Dear Chinese International Students,

On behalf of the International Student Affairs Office, we thank all staff and student representatives involved in the autumn return-to-university tasks. Special acknowledgement goes to the "Chinese International Student Management Committee".

With the collective efforts of all parties, returning students have successfully settled in this fall and are adequately equipped with necessary daily life essentials. To ensure the orderliness of our international students' studies and daily life, we would like to inform you of the following essential matters:

1. Maintenance Notice for the Public Activity Center:

From October 22, 2023, the "Public Activity Center" on the fourth floor will temporarily be closed for essential maintenance and reorganisation. Once completed, our office will promptly announce the reopening date and usage guidelines.

2. Score Table for Violations in International Student Dormitory:

l Initial Allocation: Each student will start with ten dormitory points.

l Tallying Method: Points will be calculated regularly and sporadically.

l Reset Period: At the end of each semester, all scores will be reset to 10.

l Deduction Details: For specific point deductions, please refer to the "International Student Dormitory Rule Violation Points Table".

l Sanctions: Students with points below four will be asked to vacate the dormitory. The university reserves the right to suspend or expel the offending student for severe infractions.

3. Implementation and Supervision of Dormitory Management Regulations for International Students:

Beginning October 23, 2023, the university will initiate a new dormitory management system. It will be co-monitored and executed by the University Union, the International Student Dormitory Management Office, the International Student Affairs Office, and the "Chinese International Student Management Committee".

4. Organisation and Responsibilities of the Chinese International Student Management Committee:

The "Chinese International Student Management Committee" is dedicated to serving Chinese international students, aiming to assist various school departments in implementing related regulations and providing daily student management and services. A rotating president and secretary will be elected monthly to help the International Affairs Office and other university departments to ensure operational continuity and efficiency. Furthermore, representatives will be periodically elected from the Chinese international student body to gather broader student input to participate in the committee's work.

5. First Dormitory Check Notice:

PSHPU will conduct its first dormitory check for this semester shortly; the date is uncertain. The form of dormitory inspection may be a surprise inspection or prior notice. Please be sure to be prepared.

尊敬的中国留学生：

在此，我代表国际留学生事务处对所有参与秋季返校工作的工作人员和学生代表表示衷心的感谢，特别是要表达我处对《中国留学生管理委员会》的崇高敬意。有赖于各方的通力合作，秋季返校学生已成功完成入住程序，并完善了日常生活所需物品配置。

为了确保我校留学生的学习与生活秩序，现通告以下重要事项：

1. 公共活动中心维护通知：

自2023年10月22日起，四楼的《公共活动中心》将暂停开放，主要为进行必要的维护和整理工作。维护工作结束后，我处将在第一时间发布公告，明确其再次开放的具体时间和使用指南。

2. 宿舍行为积分制规定：

初始分配：每名学生将初始获得10分的宿舍积分。

统计方法：我处将结合定期与不定期的方式对宿舍积分进行统计。

重置周期：每学期结束时，所有学生的分值将被重置为10分。

扣分细则：具体扣分标准，请参照《留学生宿舍违规行为分值表》。

处罚措施：积分低于4分的学生，将会受到离开宿舍的强制要求。对于重大违规者，学校将保留给予停课或开除的处分权。

3. 国际留学生宿舍管理办法的实施与监督：

自2023年10月23日起，我校将启动新的宿舍管理制度，由大学工会、国际留学生宿舍管理办公室、国际留学生事务处，以及《中国留学生管理委员会》共同监管并执行《国际留学生宿舍管理办法》。

4. 中国留学生管理委员会的组织与职责：

《中国留学生管理委员会》是专为中国留学生服务的组织，旨在辅助学校各部门实施相关规定，并为学生提供日常管理与服务。为确保其工作的连续性和效率，每月将从中选出轮值会长和秘书，协助国际事务处与其他学校部门进行工作。同时，为更广泛地吸收学生的意见，我们将定期从中国留学生中选举代表参与该委员会工作。

5. 首次查寝通知：

大学将于近期将进行本学期的首次查寝，具体日期暂不确定。查寝形式可能为突击查验或预先通知，敬请各位学生做好准备。
